I’m Here to Help
I was born, and received my formative education, in Texas. After high school, I traveled to New Orleans and enrolled at Loyal University where I received degrees in psychology (B.S.) and counseling (M.A.). I finished my Ph.D. coursework at the University of New Orleans, but was unexpectedly called in a different direction.
I became a nun in the RJM order, Mexico City province. I was a counselor, teacher and missionary for ten years. During this time I learned to be fluent in the Spanish language and culture, and developed a deep spirituality which was centered upon helping others in their journey. These experiences still inform my counseling work today.
In the US, I have had the opportunity to be a lead clinician for the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization, a counselor for cancer patients, a school counselor, and a psychologist for the city of Las Vegas. I have also worked with veterans with PTSD through Strong Star, the government-approved CPT program, and am certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol developed by Dr. Stephen Porges.
Today I live in San Antonio with my husband, Mark, and my numerous rescue dogs.
